Image editing - adding hair
The image on the left is the version supplied to us by the agency which they had sourced from stock. The marketing manager, and everyone we consulted, fell in love with it. It communicated intense engagement on the part of the healthcare provider, the darkness suggested working late into the night, giving that extra.
The problem was, for our purposes, she is a respiratory therapist, it's not appropriate for her to wear a surgical cap. We asked the agency to do the edit but what they provided looked horrible, the hair was too white and completely unnatural. We were about to abandon the image and the project altogether because, at the time, there was no budget for a photoshoot. I quietly decided to give it a shot and was pleased with the result, it at least looked better than what the agency had provided. The next step was to circulate it to see if others thought it looked natural. Everyone agreed it looked very good so we moved forward.
